The COHP Board

Forrest Broman
Chairperson of the COHP Board of Directors

Forrest Broman is the founder of TIE (The International Educator) and The Principals' Training Center for International School Leadership (The PTC). He is the CEO of the Overseas Schools Assistance Corp.(OSAC), which conducts both programs. He was formerly the headmaster of international schools in Israel and in Caracas, Venezuela.

OSAC serves as the fund raising agency for the Children of Haiti Project (COHP) which has conducted educational programs for 87 destitute Haitian children since May, 2010. A graduate of Harvard Law School, Broman has served as an executive under Mayor John Lindsay in New York City and as a regional director of the US Office of Economic Opportunity.

Frank Anderson

A native of Massachusetts, Frank has been involved in education for forty-five years in the United States (thirteen years) and Latin America (thirty-two years). He served as a teacher for two years, a principal for three years and Superintendent for twenty -seven years at Colegio Internacional de Carabobo located in Valencia, Venezuela. Upon his relinquishing of the most recent Venezuelan position in 2004, he joined for three years the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCASI) in Decatur, Georgia, as Executive Director for Latin American Accreditation Services. Frank has also served on the Executive Boards of AAIE, AASSA, Search Associates, TIE, and VANAS. He has visited and worked with sixty-five SACSCASI accredited schools throughout Latin America.

He is currently involved in leadership for two charitable foundations, WeCanHelp in Venezuela and Children of Haiti Project (COHP) in Port au Prince, Haiti. He currently provides upon request accreditation and leadership consultations within the United States and Latin America.

Frank and his wife Sally reside in Atlanta, Georgia.

Bambi Betts
Bambi Betts is the director of both the Principals’ Training Center for International School Leadership (PTC) and the Teacher Training Center for International Educators (TTC) as well as the CEO for the Academy for International School Heads (AISH) and founder of the two additional training centers for international educators, including counselors and school business leaders. Bambi has been a director, principal and teacher in international schools for over 30 years. She has been a consultant in over 75 international schools on a wide range of issues and is the author of numerous articles on international education and global citizenship.

Carolyn Brunner
Carolyn Brunner is the Director of International Graduate Programs for Educators for Buffalo State, SUNY. She received her B.S. degree in education from Penn State and M.A. in reading from Union College. She has served on the Board of Trustees of the Association for the Advancement of International Education (AAIE) and the Board of Directors of the International Learning Styles Network.

Ms. Brunner is a well-recognized instructional leader in the areas of learning, teaching and administrative styles. As a teacher, professor, workshop presenter and consultant, Ms. Brunner has worked throughout the United States and in over 90 other countries for schools, higher education institutions, and corporations.

Her publications appear in numerous journals including ASCD’s “Educational Leadership”, “International Education”, and “Forum of Applied Educational Research”. Additionally, she is the principal author of Guide to the Implementation of Learning Styles in American Overseas Schools.

Patricia Handly
As an educational consultant Patricia Handly has supported teachers and principals in more than 100 international schools across the globe. Over the years she has worked with several organizations including the Developmental Studies Center, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt International Group, and the Principals Training Center for International School Leadership. Prior to her work as a consultant, Pat served as the elementary principal in international schools in The Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. Her earlier work in education included roles as classroom and resource teacher, school psychologist and college lecturer. She received her Principals Certificate from the College of New Jersey, her Masters degree in clinical and school psychology from George Mason University and her undergraduate degree in child development from Connecticut College. She has served as a volunteer in support of initiatives for children at The Children’s Home Society of Florida.

Jeff Keller
Jeff Keller has served as the Superintendent of the American School Foundation of Monterrey since 1994. He has worked in American International schools since 1975, having been Head of School in Colombia and Guatemala prior to his tenure in Monterrey. He earned a doctorate from the University of Alabama. In addition to his interest in supporting COHP, he is heavily involved in fund raising efforts for Operation Smile Mexico.

Barry McCombs
Barry McCombs is the founder of the International Educators Society which supports international schools in their humanitarian and educational projects. His experience includes 10 years as a public school superintendent in Washington State and 13 years of service as the director of Colegio Nueva Granada, a prestigious private international school in Bogota, Colombia. He has served as the president of the Tri-Association of American Schools in Central America, Mexico, Colombia and the Caribbean. In 2005 the Colombian granted him citizenship in recognition of his work to improve the educational opportunities for disadvantaged children and in 2010 he was given the coveted Simon Bolivar award by the Colombian government for his contributions to education in that country. Dr. McCombs currently resides in Washington State and travels extensively as an educational consultant.

John J. Randolph

John J. Randolph is currently the President of Global Educational Systems which provides purchasing, consolidation and shipping services to the international school community. He is a TIE (The International Educator) Board Member and has spent almost thirty years in International Education as former Director of the Casablanca American School in Casablanca, Morocco; Assistant Director and International Baccalaureate Biology Teacher at the International College Spain, Madrid, Spain; Assistant Principal, High School AP Biology and Middle School Mathematics Teacher at the American School Foundation, Mexico City, Mexico; High School Biology Teacher at both Foxborough and Brockton High Schools. He was the Former President and Vice President of The Mediterranean Association of International Schools and is a graduate of the University of Virginia and holding a Master of Arts in International Educational Philosophy from UVA and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology.

Fred Wesson
Fred Wesson has been Headmaster of Canadian Academy since 2005. Previously he headed Colegio Roosevelt in Lima, Peru and the American International School of Bucharest, Romania. His first international school experience was as Secondary School Principal at the Graded School in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Fred received his BA from Yale College in 1977 and his M.Ed from Harvard in 1984. He was named a Klingenstein Visiting Fellow at Columbia University in 2006. He was a founding board member for the Council of International Schools.

Jacqueline Fabius
Jacqueline Fabius was born in Manhattan in 1971 to Haitian immigrant parents. She grew up in Haiti, Egypt and Israel. Her early education spread from Haiti to the Middle East. Along with a year abroad in Paris at the Sorbonne and Science Po, she earned her BA in Comparative Literature and Spanish studies from Hamilton College in 1995. She speaks five languages.

After working as a photographer and a web designer for several years, in 2001 Jacqueline started her own business, fabulous design, which provided project management and web services to a wide variety of clients, including Viacom and Pitney Bowes.

When the disastrous earthquake struck Haiti in January of 2010, Jacqueline felt compelled to put her project leadership skills to use. Less than two months later, she was on the ground starting a school for underserved children: the Children of Haiti Project.

Jacqueline is currently based in the south of Haiti, where she works for UNOPS as a Project Manager on a sustainable development project.
